My land, my love: Kgp
What makes a place likable? Is it the weather, the food or the flora? If it were so, then IIT Kharagpur is maybe one of the worst places to live with its hellish weather, terrible food and 2200 acres of a vast hinterland. Then how can one be even remotely sad about leaving this netherworld?
Yes! I have the answer to this one. It because of the endlessly fascinating people here. The people, who are masters in their craft, who show you the limitless possibilities in any situation. The astonishingly talented people who become your friends and show you the beauty in ordinary things and make them joyful. It is said that you are the average of the people you spend the most time with. As an afterthought, I feel it is really difficult to get the average wrong here, given that you are always surrounded by such phenomenal people. It is the realization of losing their ubiquitous company, which makes you sad.
I do not have words to express the gratitude I feel towards the wonderful friends and all the people, who have made my time spent here an everlasting memory, but I can only try, with two the lovely words: Thank You! Thank you for everything..... EVERYTHING. Everything I am and everything I ever will be I owe it to this place. This stupid, wonderful, boring, amazing place.
